History

The seed of Tutor-Saliba Corporation was a successful family construction business, A.G. Tutor Company, Inc., founded by Albert G. Tutor in 1949. Ronald N. Tutor joined his father's firm after graduating from the University of Southern California in 1963. In 1972, A.G. Tutor Company, Inc. formed a general partnership with N.M. Saliba Company operating under the name Tutor-Saliba. In 1981, Tutor-Saliba Corporation was formed with Ronald N. Tutor named president. A.G. Tutor Company, Inc. and N.M. Saliba Company were merged into Tutor-Saliba Corporation, forming the company as it exists today. As a result of the combination, the company has experienced substantial growth represented by an increase in business from $10 million in 1972 to a current five-year average of over $500 million per year.

Tutor-Saliba Corporation has become a major force as both a building contractor and heavy civil works construction company with a rich history of diversity and exceeding expectations. Tutor-Saliba is ranked among the largest contractors by Engineering News Record with more than $2.7 billion under contract. Projects range in size to over $1 billion, and consist of both traditional construction and design/build. For these projects, Tutor-Saliba offers our Clients a broad scope of capabilities, the right technical staff and field supervision, and one of the industry's largest equipment fleets.
